Blogging Marathon – Apple Fritters

😀Ok, the great news is that I have finally found a food blogging marathon. Can you believe this was happening for four years and I couldn’t find it till now. Google, how could you? Anyway, I found it and then had to wait for a month to sign up and then another month to participate. If nothing else, the kitchen has taught me patience. So I am part of this Blogging Marathon. Yay!

I have picked the theme of Fritters. The rules are that I need to make three fritters in three days from 3 countries. Wiki says that fritters are simply some batter with a filling and is deep fried. Yumm! I have picked the classic American apple fritters for today. It is apple pieces mixed into a pancake like batter and deep fried. The more health conscious people can surely bake it in the oven. But my personal philosophy is to eat well though in moderation. I rather have a proper pizza slice full of cheese and made with all purpose flour rather than an entire pizza made with whole wheat or finger millet flour and no cheese.

Coming back to these awesome apple fritters, they taste best when deep fried. But if for any reason you are not able to, then you can either bake them in muffin tins or baking trays. If you do not have an oven, then you can also fry them in an appe pan that will reduce the oil usage significantly. Ensure that you turn it on all sides so it it cooks evenly golden brown throughout.
If you like tea time snacks I assume you love tea as well. Check out this unique saffron flavoured Kahwa which is easy to make and an absolutely refreshing brew. If you want something cold then maybe this orange coffee could be your thing. Drop me a line to let me know how you liked all of these.
